I am currently working under Dr. Nishimura on a project involving 2-photon microscopy imaging of a beating rodent heart. The ultimate goal of the project entails introducing pathologies into the heart, such as an arteriole occlusion, and observing the effects. This requires development of reliable metrics to characterize the blood flow properties thought to be indicative of the overall health of the mouse. Another current undertaking is the refinement of our surgical technique to create opportunities for long-term studies. I am a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering here at Cornell, and received my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with concentration in Biomechanics from Johns Hopkins University.
