Adult-onset caloric restriction in animal models has been previously shown to effectively reduce cancer incidence, but the mechanism is still largely unknown. Because of the potency of caloric restriction in cancer protection, further understanding this relationship can contribute to developing antineoplastic treatments. Camille is currently working towards completing her thesis which aims to determine how inflammation moderates the effect of dietary restriction and metastatic progression through looking at the mouse brain and lung.

When not in lab, Camille works as a West Campus Student Assistant in Keeton House and teaches rock-climbing with COE (Cornell Outdoor Education). She enjoys going for long runs, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with friends/family. Previously, she has conducted fieldwork on barriers to eye-care treatment in Ghana as a Global Impact Fellow. She is part of the Cornell Tradition program and hopes to pursue a career in medicine.
